Various textile materials can be cut by ultrasound. For example, natural fibers, synthetic fibers, woven fabrics including aramid fibers, carbon fibers, and glass fibers, non-woven fabrics, and knitted fabrics can be ultrasonically cut.
During ultrasonic cutting, the equipment is only heated to about 50 ℃, which will not generate smoke and odor, and also eliminates the danger of injury and fire during cutting.
When the ultrasonic cutting equipment works, it will generate electromagnetic vibration of 20-40KHZ, and it will be transformed into mechanical oscillation by piezoelectric ceramics. This oscillation is transmitted to the ultrasonic cutter and the material to be cut, and heat is generated from the inside, and then the material is mechanically divided. In contrast to high-temperature cutting, ultrasonic energy is mainly used for mechanical rather than thermal energy, and the wear on the ultrasonic cutting blade is small.
The cut edges are very neat, and the warp and weft of the fabric will not shift or come out. Cotton and viscose fabrics can be cut on stenters and cylindrical fabric slitters at speeds of up to 10 m / min. When cutting non-thermoplastic materials, the edges of the fibers are fused when the fibers are processed or the fibers enter the ultrasonic working area.
